Atsu set for Chelsea return

Chelsea are set to recall Christian Atsu from his loan spell with Bournemouth, according to the Mirror.

The winger has endured a frustrating time on the South Coast, struggling with injury and making just two appearances – both of which came in the League Cup.

He signed for Chelsea two-and-a-half years ago but is yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club, having also been shipped out to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem and Premier League rivals Everton, for whom he played for thirteen times last season.

Internationally, he has been capped forty-two times for Ghana, scoring nine goals and was part of their squad for last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

He was set to remain with Eddie Howe’s side for the entire season, but could now be brought back by the Blues, who are looking for vast improvements after a disappointing first half of the season.
