Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette says that the decision on the future of captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t have any effect on his own.
Aubameyang has now entered the final 12 months of his contract and the Gunners expect him to sign a new one soon, or they would likely be open to offers for his services in order to avoid losing him for free. The Gabon international is believed to be willing to stay, but the club have to show signs of progress and ambition for him to commit on paper.
There have been suggestions that if Aubameyang pens a new deal, the club would be open to selling Lacazette instead, with the Frenchman’s contract running until 2022.
However, as quoted by Sky Sports, Lacazette insists he has an excellent relationship with Aubameyang both on and off the pitch and that Aubameyang’s decision on future won’t have any effect on him. He also revealed that there aren’t any talks between the club and himself about a new contract.
