Aubameyang welcomes EPL interest; Fischer to resume talks in January

AS Saint-Étienne forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed that he would welcome a move to the English Premier League amid reports that Aston Villa, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Sunderland are showing interest in the Gabon international, Sky Sports can reveal.

Aubameyang, 23, has bagged eights goals and four assists in 14 league appearances for St Etienne this season. Only Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic (12) and in-form Toulouse talisman Ben Yedder (9) have scored more goals in Ligue 1 this term.

St Etienne are currently third in the Ligue 1 table, level on points with French giants Olympique Lyonnais and one point adrift of PSG and Marseille, albeit Lyon and Marseille have a game in hand.

Aubameyang has been on absolutely fantastic form this season, fueling speculation that the 23-year-old Gabon international — who represented his country at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and the London Olympics — is set to leave the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in January.

“I am fine at the moment at St Etienne and if there is interest in me then I can only thank God for that,” Aubameyang told Sky Sports.

“I really love the Premier League and hope to one day play in England, but there are other leagues in the world too, with good quality.”

Newcastle United are rumoured to be the front-runners for Aubameyang’s signature, with the Magpies in desperate need of reinforcement after starting the 2012-13 Premier League with a disappointing 3-5-5 record.

Fischer to resume talks in January

Ajax Amsterdam teenage sensation Viktor Fischer will not resume contract negotiations with the Dutch Eredivisie giants until January, with the Denmark international forward reportedly attracting interest from a number of Europe’s top clubs, including the likes of Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Real Madrid, Sky Sports understands.

Fischer, 18, has netted two goals in five league games for Ajax, while adding another in the KNVB Cup.

The player’s stock is rising and his agent Soren Lerby knows it.

“We will continue to negotiate after the Christmas holidays,” Lerby told Tipsbladet.

“Viktor is playing and that is good for him. That is the only focus right now.”

Expect Fischer to get more playing time as the season progress, especially since Ajax do not really have a true No. 9 at the moment.

Haidara wants Fiorentina move

AS Nancy left-back Massadio Haidara has revealed that he would like to play for Fiorentina despite interest from Aston Villa, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports reports.

According to reports, Haidara could leave the Stade Marcel Picot for as little as £2 million when the transfer window re-opens in January, making the 19-year-old one of the most coveted defenders in Europe.

“Fiorentina are a great club and I’d like to play there,” Haidara told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“I’ve heard good things about (head coach, Vincenzo) Montella and I like how his team plays. I would be very happy to play in Serie A.

“PSG are also a great team, but I would really like to play my football in Italy. My favourite team is AC Milan and I dream of one day playing at the San Siro.”

Haidara has started 11 league matches for Nancy this season, tallying one assist and accumulating two bookings.
