Valenciennes striker Johan Audel confirmed on Monday he has signed a four-year deal with German club VfB Stuttgart, subject to a medical.

The 27-year-old scored 26 goals, including 24 for Valenciennes, in 96 Ligue 1 games. He joined the French club three years ago.

VfB Stuttgart finished sixth in the Bundesliga last season and qualified for the Europa League where they will meet SK Slovan Bratislava in the play-off round.

Audel’s departure could accelerate the return to Valenciennes of Malian international striker Mamadou Samassa from Marseille.
