August 4th: Friday’s Daily Double – 4/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

With the likes of the Championship making its return on Friday night, we have another intriguing set of fixtures from across Europe.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a Friday flutter, we have found a couple of helpful tips that can offer a great return for your bet.

16:30 HIFK vs KaPa

While HIFK might have shown a string of domestic issues on either side of June’s international break, Friday’s hosts have come roaring back in some style over the past few weeks. Skyrocketing their way up the Ykkonen standings, fans around the Bolt Arena are starting to believe that their side can secure an immediate top-flight return this season.

Signing off July with another stunning performance as they eventually snatched an action-packed 3-2 win away at JaPS, Sami Okkonen’s men should find the mood in their camp at a season-high.

Breaking into the play-off places and simply looking to widen their buffer in the top-six chase this weekend, the Reds have now won each of their last three straight Ykkonen appearances – their most fruitful flurry since the end of May.

Likewise, with their recent purple patch underlined by a 4-0 romp away at KPV on July 15th, it should be highlighted that Okkonen’s high-flying squad have bagged a staggering 11 strikes on their three-match winning run.

Although KaPa might have made an essential return to winning ways last time out as they stormed their way to a 4-0 romp against JJK on home soil, that result doesn’t cover what has been an extended second-tier struggle for the Helsinki-based outfit.

Needing a minor miracle in their bid to claim a top-six finish this season, Jordi Aluja’s men have recorded only a pair of wins from their last 12 Ykkonen outings – a run that stems all the way back to May 20th.

Including a woeful 6-2 drumming at the hands of Mikkeli back on June 28th, KaPa have mustered just a single point from any of their previous six straight Ykkonen showdowns outside of Helsinki.

19:45 Sligo Rovers vs St. Patrick’s Athletic

While St. Patrick’s might have been left heartbroken last month as they saw their European qualifying adventure come to an end thanks to a 5-3 aggregate defeat against Dudelange, Friday’s guests have continued to shine while on domestic duties this season. Sat in pole position to claim what would be a hugely impressive silver medal finish among Ireland’s elite in 2023, the Saints will be looking to make another Premier Division statement here.

Making a crucial return to winning ways last time out as they extended on their FAI Cup run after picking up a 2-1 victory away at Longford, Jon Daly’s men have lost just one of their previous 10 domestic appearances across all competitions.

With that domestic flurry stemming all the way back to an action-packed 3-2 loss against reigning Irish champions Shamrock Rovers on May 15th, St. Patrick’s have also impressed with their clinical displays in the final third.

Along with a 7-0 romp against UC Dublin on June 30th, Daly’s men have notched 47 Premier Division strikes this season and no top-flight club has recorded more goals.

On the flip side, missing out on what they would have billed as a real opportunity last time out as they eventually had to settle for a lively 2-2 draw away at Drogheda, Friday’s guests are seeking some much-needed stability.

Along with opening July with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Derry, the Rovers have managed to muster just a pair of wins from any of their previous nine straight domestic appearances – a run that stems back to May 27th.

However, it should be noted, with Sligo seeing six of their last seven domestic matchups finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting another enjoyable affair this weekend.
