Austin denies Manchester United link

Charlie Austin has admitted that there was no truth in the reports linking him with a move to Manchester United, according to Talksport.

The Queens Park Rangers was linked with a move to a host of Premier League clubs last month, with Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and West Ham United all referenced as potential suitors.

Even Manchester United, who laid out a record fee for French starlet Anthony Martial, were said to be in the race though Austin has denied that that was the case.

Despite the reported interest in the former Burnley man, he remained at Loftus Road and is set to aid their push for an immediate return to the top flight.

He already has four goals in five Championship appearances so far this season – a tally that sees him top of the list of the division’s top scorers – and he can be backed at 10/3 to net first against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
