The Daily Mail are reporting that Tottenham are close to doing a deal with forward Willian from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Andre Villas Boas is keen to add to his attacking options as in his sides opening English Premier League match of the season against Newcastle, Jermain Defoe was the only experienced first-team striker he has to call upon.
The Portuguese boss has secured the services of Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent basis after a summer of speculation and now he is set to enter the transfer market again.
Willian has reportedly fallen out with some members of the board at the Ukrainian side and now could be on his way out of the club.
It is being suggested that Spurs are willing to splash the cash on the Brazilian international with a £20 million bid.
Villas Boas may not stop there either, with another Brazilian – Leonardo Damiao also being heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane before the month is out.
This would certainly be a statement of intent from the London club and they could go to having a whole host of attacking options – a contrast to the opening days of the campaign.
It may be just what they need to break into the top four again this season.
