Premier League strugglers Everton are in pole position to recruit Marseille forward Andre Ayew, Sunday People can reveal.
The Toffees are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and they believe the Ghana star would be a very good addition to the squad at Goodison Park.
And with Ayew’s deal with Marseille due to expire at the end of the season, Everton manager Roberto Martinez has stepped up his efforts to sign the highly rated footballer.
According to the Sunday People, the Spanish coach recently traveled to France to meet the 25-year-old and attempted to persuade him to join the Toffees.
Ayew’s wage demands are the only problem at the moment given that the player wants a contract worth £3 million per campaign and he is in a position to negotiate considering that quite a few top European clubs are showing interest in his services.
The Ghana international has been in fine form this season, notching 6 goals in 20 league outings.
