Eredivisie table toppers AZ have received bad news from the treatment table. Left-back Sebastien Pocognoli sustained a hamstring injury in the league match against Roda and will be unavailable for several weeks. Pocognoli left the pitch on a stretcher in the dying minutes of the game.

It’s not yet exactly known how long Pocognoli will be unavailable. AZ’s medical staff expect him to be unavailable for at least three weeks. Pocognoli will most likely be replaced new signing Ragnar Klavan during his period out.

Pocognoli joined AZ from Belgian outfit Genk in 2007 and quickly developed into an important first team member. He made eighteen league appearances so far this campaign and found the net twice.
