French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Fenerbahce have offered a contract to Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna.
The full-back’s deal at the Emirates is due to expire in June and Arsene Wenger yesterday revealed there had been no progress in the contract talks.
L’Equipe has suggested that Turkish giants Fenerbahce plan to take advantage of the situation by offering the France international a lucrative long-term contract.
The same source claims the Canaries are prepared to double Sagna’s salary that currently stands at around £60,000 per week.
Fenerbahce have already secured Turkish Super Lig title and they plan to make several high-profile signings in the summer transfer window.
Luring Sagna to Sukru Saracoglu could prove to be a difficult task as the 31-year-old reportedly has offers from Europe’s top clubs.
The Frenchman looks increasingly likely to leave Arsenal at the end of the season after spending last seven years in North London.
