FC Bayern München will be without Miroslav Klose for the next two weeks at least. The 30-year-old forward damaged a tendon when he went over on his right ankle during the 3-0 win at VfL Bochum on Saturday. The club say he will have to undergo an operation within the next couple of days.

“It’s a serious blow of course, bitter news”, coach Jürgen Klinsmann said. “All we can hope is that the operation goes well and Miro is back in training soon.” Klose had to come off in the 31st minute of the game at Bochum after stepping into a hole in the pitch and turning his ankle.
