Bailey: I rejected United and City

According to Manchester Evening News, Leon Bailey has revealed that he rejected Manchester City and Manchester United in favour of remaining at Bayer Leverkusen. The 21 year old made the jump over to German football from Genk back in 2017 and he hasn’t looked back since, with the winger turning himself into one of the most talked about youngsters in the game today.

That may sound like an overstatement but it couldn’t be any more accurate, which is likely why City and United were both invested in the idea of signing him. Bailey already feels like someone who has been playing at the top level for over a decade or so now which is what makes him such a fascinating star, and when you consider his actual age, it’s staggering to think about where he could be five years from now.

While he may have rejected English football this time, though, it’s worth keeping an eye on how this story develops.
