(GSM) – Rangers chief executive Martin Bain believes manger Walter Smith will clarify his future within the next few days.

Smith steered the club to a 1-0 victory at Hibernian on Sunday which sealed back-to-back SPL titles, and the manager’s ninth at the club, as they are 11 points clear of arch rivals Celtic with three games to go.

The 62-year-old has been working without a contract at Ibrox since January as the Gers have financial problems, and Bain is hoping that Smith will stay on at the helm.

“I think that depends on a number of factors,” Rangers chief executive told the BBC Radio.

He continues, “I think it depends not just for Walter but for many others at the football club.

Chief also hailed manager besides whole squad for the performance, “Walter Smith, his assistants and the whole team have performed tremendously well.

“But that’s a decision for Walter and I’m sure he’ll make it in the few days to come,” he revealed.
