Jose Mari Bakero believes Pep Guardiola has made the right decision to resume his coaching career at Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga giants announced on Wednesday that the former Barcelona coach will replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of this season, and his former team-mate feels Guardiola will thrive at Bayern.
“Bayern are a great destination for Pep. He can give this new batch of German players a bit of a Latin touch,” Bakero told Goal.com.
“I am happy for him. Bayern Munich are a historic club. They have a great structure and will give Pep all the support he needs to make this project a success.
“Germany is a nice country and its football has developed significantly in recent years. It was characterised by power and strength, but is now based on technique.”
Guardiola took a one-year sabbatical from football after leaving Barcelona in 2012.
