Bale back to Real Madrid in doubt?

According to a recent report from Marca, Real Madrid don’t have a place for Gareth Bale in their squad next season.

That comes despite recent comments from Bale that suggested he was the one planning on heading back to the Bernabeu at the end of the season, noting that his main aim with going back to Tottenham on loan was for him to pick up more game time.

Spurs may be interested in signing him back on a permanent basis, but it’s not yet clear as to how much that would cost them financially – but our guess is that it’d cost a lot.

Bale has clearly enjoyed elements of his time back in North London. Alas, if he’s already thinking about Real again, that may be a clear sign of where his head is at.

If he doesn’t return to Madrid, perhaps heading elsewhere will still be on the cards.
