Gareth Bale could still move to Manchester United this summer, according to the Independent.
Real Madrid remain in pursuit of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe with a £160m deal for the France international edging ever closer to completion, and said deal would see Bale move down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
Manchester United have been constantly linked with a move the Old Trafford over the past two seasons and a deal could happen should Mbappe be purchased.
Bale made just twenty-seven appearances in all competitions last season, the least in a single campaign since he signed from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013.
However, since arriving in the Spanish capital he has played one hundred and fifty times, scoring sixty-seven goals and winning a host of major honours.
He has won the Champions League three out of four seasons, as well as the La Liga title last season and the Copa Del Rey back in 2014, when he scored a memorable winner in the final.
