Gareth Bale of Real Madrid has made it clear he won’t be moving to China this summer, according to Marca.
While his future at the Santiago Bernabeu remains far from certain, the Welshman apparently isn’t interested in playing in the Chinese Super League despite recent reports of interest in his services from the world’s most populous country. If he is to leave Real, the 30-year-old would only be interested in joining another top club in one of Europe’s top leagues.
However, he would still rather stay put, and the fact that there haven’t been any formal offers for him as of yet plays into his hands and he has joined his teammates on the pre-season trip to Canada.
For Premier League clubs, the transfer window closes in less than a month, and time seems to be on Bale’s side. At the moment, he appears set to continue towards running down his contract, and to continue earning €17 million per year.
