Having delivered crucial influence over the Champions League final on Saturday by coming off the bench to score two extraordinary goals, Gareth Bale is set to sit down and talk about his future to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez this week.
Speaking to BeIN sports after the game, the Welshman said he hasn’t been happy with not being a regular feature of Real’s starting XI since his comeback from ankle injury, and that he will now consider his future. According to AFP, Bale has a good relationship with Perez and he will therefore likely get an audience, but Zinedine Zidane is the president’s personal project and he’s very likely to have the final say in any decision.
Zidane admitted Bale deserved to play more than he recently has, but he still favoured Isco ahead of the former Tottenham winger.
Bale has been so far linked with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Tottenham, but it is believed his wages and the potential transfer fee would represent a huge obstacle for a potential north-London return.
