Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Gareth Bale will be staying at the club past the end of this summer’s transfer window, as relayed by Sky Sports.
There have been plenty of speculative reports on the future of the Welshman, but following the club’s failure to comply with Zidane’s wishes and sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United and given Zidane’s reluctance to accept an alternative addition, it became apparent that both Bale and James Rodriguez would be staying.
But after Bale’s excellent performance in Real’s 3-1 win over Celta Vigo in the 2019/20 La Liga season opener, Zidane confirmed that the former Tottenham Hotspur star would be staying at the Santiago Bernabeu. Further more, he said that all the players who are still there are staying, and that they’re fully focused on the season ahead.
He also pointed out that it was not only Bale who had a good game, but the rest of the team as well.
