Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Gareth Bale joining Manchester United at the end of the season, according to the Metro.
The Wales international has faced criticism in some quarters following his inconsistent performances for the European Champions so far this season, leading him to be linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.
Old Trafford has long been tipped as the most likely destination for the 25 year old should he seek a new challenge, with United also linked with a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur man last summer.
Since moving to La Liga, Bale has racked up eighty-three appearances in all competitions, scoring thirty-eight goals, one of which came in last May’s Champions League final victory over neighbours Atletico.
Real lost 2-1 to table toppers Barcelona on Sunday evening to leave them four points behind their great rivals, and can now be backed at 3/1 to finish the season in first place.
