The Daily Star is reporting that Gareth Bale is a target for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, possibly as a replacement for the unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Tottenham Hotspur man is regarded as one of the best players in the English Premier League right now and is attracting attention from a lot of clubs around the world.
He did however, sign a new four-year contract with Spurs in the summer, so a deal going through might seem unlikely.
It is thought though that his contract allows him to talk to a select few clubs and Real are one of those, so the Bernabeu seems to be a likely destination for the Welshman.
Ronaldo is currently in talks over a new contract as he isn’t happy with the amount he has to pay the La Liga club for personal endorsements and that could mean that the Portugal captain leaves and Bale joins Jose Mourinho’s squad.
There is a lot of work still to be done to get this deal to go through, but it certainly looks as though it is possible, especially with the form that Bale is in.
We shall see how it develops over the next couple of months.
