Former Real Madrid striker and sporting director Predrag Mijatovic has reportedly expressed his belief that it would be in the best interest of Gareth Bale to move on from the club.
Mijatovic told the show ‘El Larguero’ on Cadena SER (as relayed by Marca) that the Spanish giants aren’t the ones to have problems if Bale fails to find a new employer; it’s Bale himself, because he is not in the plans of head coach Zinedine Zidane.
The Welshman has scored some vitally important goals for Real over the six years he has spent there following his big-money move from Tottenham Hotspur, but injuries and poor form have gradually caused him to lose the confidence of the coaches, the club’s hierarchy, as well as the supporters. Zidane has recently made it very clear he isn’t counting on the 30-year-old winger anymore, and those in charge of transfers at the club have been trying to ship him out for a while now.
However, their efforts have so far been fruitless. Bale is set to continue earning well regardless of a potential lack of game-time with his contract running for three more years, and no suitor seems willing to match his current wages.
