Ballack reveals MLS talks; Ancelotti confirms interest in Pato

Ballack reveals MLS talks

German midfielder Michael Ballack has confirmed that he is pondering a summer move to the MLS.

The 35-year-old is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen when his contract expires in June and he is currently considering numerous proposals.

The player reveals that he is not planning to end his playing career any time soon.

“The fire is still burning, as long as I’m having fun and am physically in a good shape, I’m looking for a new challenge,” Balack said in Aktuellen Sportstudio, a show on German television ZDF.

The veteran midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a move to Major League Soccer and he now confirms the initial talks have been held.

“There have been talks.”

After being constantly overlooked by previous coach Robin Dutt, Ballack has returned to the starting line-up when Sami Hyppia took over the reigns.

The highly rated midfielder has featured in 16 Bundesliga games this season and scored two goals in the process.

Ancelotti confirms interest in Pato

Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he is still interested in signing Milan forward Alexandre Pato.

The Italian is eager to get reunited with the highly rated Brazilian and is expected to launch a new assault on the player in the summer.

Ancelotti tried to sign Pato last January, but without success and subsequently revealed that he would not be pursuing his interest in the 22-year-old.

However, it appears the experienced tactician has changed his mind and he now confirms the Brazilian is still being followed.

“Pato remains one of our transfer targets, just like many others,” Ancelotti told Rai Uno after the match against Sochaux.

“It’s true that he has been injured a lot, but I still consider him to be an extraordinary talent who can prove himself to everybody.”

The Brazilian has two years left on his deal at San Siro, but Milan could decide to cash in on the player in the summer as the Rossoneri are disappointed by the amount of time the player spends on the sidelines.

Lazio target French youngster

Lazio are weighing up move for Sedan highly rated midfielder Yanis Bahloul, L’Equipe has revealed.

The 18-year-old is currently part of Sedan’s Under-19 squad and has yet to feature for the senior side.

However, his talent was spotted by Lazio scouts and the player is now tipped to move to Olimpico at the end of the season.

The attacking midfielder will be out of contract in the summer, meaning he is now free to speak to interested clubs.

L’Equipe claims that Lazio chiefs have invited the player to Rome and they plan to use the visit to persuade him into joining their ranks at the end of the season.

The player, who recently rejected the opportunity to play for Morocco national team, is also followed by Newcastle.
