(GSM) – Inter Milan’s Mario Balotelli has apologized to the club following a rift with manager Jose Mourinho. The 19-year-old forward could now make a return to the squad for the first time in six games.

In a statement posted on Inter’s official website on Thursday, Balotelli said he was “sorry for the situation created recently. I was the first person to suffer, because I adore football and I want to play. Now, I’ll wait silently so I can be used by my team again.”

Balotelli reportedly met with Mourinho before the statement was issued. Inter face Bologna on Saturday and are missing several key players through suspension and are in need for Balotelli, who could be a main figure as Inter try to secure a spot in the Champions League semi-finals and retain the Serie A title.

The Ghana-born Italian has scored seven goals in 10 games this season and had been in good-form before being frozen because of his negative conduct. Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, who handed the player his first-team debut while at Inter, has already expressed his desire to bring the unsettled player to Eastlands.
