(GSM) – Mario Balotelli may not be part of Italy’s World Cup squad this summer, but Marcello Lippi believes he is the future of Italian football.
The Internazionale youngster needs to deal with his behavioral problems but the potential is clearly there to make it big in calcio.
“I hope Balotelli will do well for the Under-21 side on Wednesday because the game against Hungary is a difficult one,” said Lippi.
“At Inter they are working a lot on this youngster and it is an important process for him to become important for the future of the Nerazzurri and Italy.”
The Italy coach also spoke about Juventus striker Amauri, who will finally be handed an Italian passport next Wednesday.
“I will consider Amauri only when he will become fully an Italian citizen. He will then be monitored by my staff like all the others – Giuseppe Rossi, Luca Toni and Alberto Gilardino,” explained Lippi.
“By June I am hoping to recover seven or eight players who are currently out injured. On 11 May I have to submit an initial list of 30 players and this friendly will be useful to judge several players who could be included in it.”
