Balotelli: “Leave me in peace”

(GSM) – On Friday, Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli blasted his critics. The Italian player with Ghanaian roots has been controversial ever since he made his debut for Inter and has been involved in several incidents both with players as well as with his coach.

Balotelli has also been the subject of racial rows in the recent past. The 19-year-old forward is often the target of racist chants, especially by Juventus fans although they claim that they target Balotelli because of his behaviour and not because of the colour of his skin.

Jose Mourinho also showed his discontent over the attitude of the youngster, who seems to be not that keen on rules and disciplin. Balotelli is fed up with being the centre of (negative) attention all the time. “I let all the bad talk around slide off me,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Sometimes I just want to say leave me in peace and let me live my life.

“Sometimes you just get bored with all the negative headlines. You cannot read bad press about you and negative things everyday,” he added. On Wednesday, Balotelli let his feet do the talking in the Champions league match with Rubin Kazan (2-0 win) when his back-heel assist and a wonder free-kick gave Inter the win and left the footballing press drooling.

his assist was kind of lucky, though great. His free kick was pretty nice also… but no mention to his horrible passes or dribbles where he shouldve passed. He’d have been critisized like crazy without that goal.
But thats all fine and expected, I guess.

Yea, Chelski has players from Ghana and Italy dont they, that could help too…

    yea, he is only 19…

ahhh – so this is the ‘attitude’ everyone’s been talking about…I can see how it can be a problem.

But even I would gamble on it – i’m sure that clubs are lining up for this guy by now.

I can see why he was all up in Ronaldo’s grill in the last Champions League…anybody remember that? Ronaldo fell for some reason (dive, push, tackle..whatever) but Balotelli didn’t look happy and yelled in his face to get up…haha…Ronaldo looked shook, but still went on to win the game and advance. That’s when I truly noticed his courage and passion and ever since, i’ve been following him a bit and he’s been a real eye-opener.

Inter would be silly to let him slip out of their hands right now…and any team that can get their hands on him will reap a lot of benefit.

Is it just me, or is Chelsea seeming like a good fit for Balotelli right now? And i’m not just saying that b/c he’s a good player…I would say that about anyone (Rooney, Kaka, Messi, whatever) but i’m not. Balotelli needs to carve out his niche and needs a stage with support to grow on. Chelsea can be both to him. There are a lot of guys on the Chelsea squad that could keep Balotelli in check, he’ll have a great coach, he’ll have the best of fans, and it’ll widen his market appeal while he applies his aggressiveness in the aggressive EPL…I think it’s the perfect league for him, but that’s just me…a lot of good things to go on…I don’t see playing time being an issue either…with skill and determination like that, he can fit in anywhere and will get the playing time to show it.

Chelsea can really use this type of player right now. I hope he is on Roman’s radar.
