According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, former Liverpool and Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli is on the verge of completing a move to Brazilian side Flamengo. The belief is that he has agreed to a contract that will run all the way through to December 2021, ensuring that the Italian has at least two years to make an impact on Brazilian football.
Some fans had been hoping that a club in the Premier League may take a chance on Mario, who has faded into the background over the course of the last few years. The controversial striker used to be one of the most noticeable faces and names in the entire sport, but he has certainly calmed down as he has continued to age.
Who knows, perhaps we’ll see him back in Europe one day before he decides to hang up his boots for good and calls it a day.
