Chelsea have offered a new long-term contract to Football League Player of the Season Patrick Bamford, according to the Mirror.
The Blues sent the 21 year old to Middlesbrough on a season-long loan last summer, and he has impressed with nineteen goals in forty-three goals.
Prior to his move to Teeside, the striker also had successful spells with Derby County and MK Dons, though he is yet to make an appearance for his parent club, who paid Nottingham Forest £1.5m to secure his services in January 2012.
A whole host of top flight clubs are interested in signing the England U21, with Everton, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all keeping an eye on his situation.
However, the recently crowned Premier League champions are keen to tie-up his future, with a new five-year deal on the table.
Bamford is set to start in Boro’s Championship Play-Off second leg against Brentford on Friday evening and is the favourite to open the scoring at 9/2.
