According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford is set to turn down Tottenham Hotspur in favour of a new deal in Yorkshire.
The move may come as a surprise to some given the respective reputations of both clubs across the last decade or so, but now, Leeds appear to be gearing up for a run that could see them become top half regulars in the Premier League once again.
Spurs are seemingly gearing up for the end of Harry Kane’s tenure as their talisman and if he does, in fact, leave before the end of the summer transfer window.
Bamford had a strong campaign with Leeds last season and the expectation is that we’ll see more of the same, although there does appear to be some concern that they could suffer from the dreaded ‘second season syndrome’ that caught out Sheffield United in a big way.
