Arsenal are looking to complete a deal for Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, according to the Mirror.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery has been busy strengthening his squad since being named as Arsene Wenger’s successor last month already concluding deals for Switzerland defender Stephan Lichsteiner and Germany goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Moving in the other direction is midfielder Jack Wilshere, who will end his seventeen-year association with the club on July 1st, leaving space for a new midfielder which Banega could well fill.
The twenty-nine-year-old, who came of the bench in Argentina’s 1-1 draw with Iceland at the World Cup on Saturday afternoon moved back to Seville after a year at Inter Milan twelve months ago.
In total, he has played one hundred and forty-two times for the La Liga outfit, scoring seventeen goals while he has also played for Atletico Madrid and Valencia in Spain’s top flight.
Internationally, he has been capped sixty-three times for his country, scoring six goals.
