Bannan charged after motorway crash

Police confirmed they have charged Barry Bannan with driving offences after the Aston Villa midfielder was involved in a motorway crash.

The incident took place on October 23 near Watnall, Nottinghamshire.

Bannan’s full list of charges includes driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop after a road accident, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without due care and attention.

Bannan, a 21-year-old Scotland international, received bail and will have to appear in front of magistrates in Nottingham on November 25.

Aston Villa refused to comment on the charges.

A 20-year-old man who was connected with the same incident will not face any charges.
