Spanish newspaper AS is reporting that Real Betis are set to complete the loan signing of Brazilian forward Leo Baptistao from Atletico Madrid.
Los Verdiblancos have reportedly agreed to pay €1.25 million for a five-month loan, with the player set to earn €850,000 at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
And if we also include various fees, Real Betis will pay a total of €2.3 million to have the forward at their disposal until the end of the season.
This is enough to suggest los Verdiblancos are desperate to leave the bottom of the standings in Spanish La Liga, seeing as how they are already five points adrift of safety.
Leo Baptistao only joined Atletico Madrid in the summer, but he has been unable to play himself into the first team plans on Diego Simeone.
The 21-year-old went on to start just one La Liga fixture, while making another four substitute appearances for los Colchoneros.
