Barbosa set for Flamengo

According to reports in Portugal and Brazil, Gabriel Barbosa is expected to join Flamengo on loan until the end of the current season. Things haven’t really worked out for the 22 year old at Inter Milan and that’s putting it lightly, with the Italian side only playing him 10 times. It’s safe to say that he hasn’t really been given much of a fair chance at the San Siro, but with Santos, he’s been on fire.

It’s back in Brazil that he was able to thrive in 2018, averaging a goal every other game in a big return to form. You’d think that might have peaked the interest of Inter, who could’ve probably given him a few more starts, but it wasn’t to be.

While he’s young enough to still bounce back from this latest setback in European football, it certainly feels like he could be the kind of player who thrives more so when he’s back in South America.
