German newspaper Bild has learned that Barcelona and Arsenal are among clubs showing interest in Schalke starlet Max Meyer.
The Miners were unable to prevent Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka from leaving as he has agreed to join Bayern Munich, and they are now in danger of losing Meyer as well.
The 22-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and he plans to make a decision on his future in the next month and a half.
Meyer was obviously offered a new and improved deal at Veltins Arena, but he is also on the radar of European powerhouses Barcelona and Arsenal.
The central midfielder has so far made 186 competitive appearances for Schalke, scoring 22 goals and producing 24 assists in the process.
