According to the Independent, Barcelona are considering bringing in Paul Pogba from Manchester United in January.
The Catalan club have been in regular contact with the midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola, and whilst they were prepared initially to play a waiting game like with Philippe Coutinho, the recent events between Pogba and manager Jose Mourinho have nudged them towards making their move soon as they work on rebuilding the middle section of the team.
At United, there was a feeling that Pogba’s issues were with Mourinho alone, and that everything would be fine should the Portuguese be given his marching orders. But that stance has apparently shifted, and both Pogba and Raiola want the Barcelona move regardless of Mourinho’s fate. The Frenchman is no longer viewed at Old Trafford as unsellable, despite his marketability value. Some have mentioned the figure of £140million.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph report concerns over Barcelona’s ability to pay such an amount with their enormous wage bill representing a real problem.
