Barca considering Mata swoop

Barcelona are monitoring Juan Mata’s situation at Chelsea, following reports that the Spain international is unhappy at Stamford Bridge, the Daily Star understands.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims that the midfielder is uninterested with the limited role he has been playing under Jose Mourinho.

The 25 year old has featured in just one of Chelsea’s matches so far this season, and was linked with a move to a number of the Premier League rivals, while his former club Valencia failed with a late approach.

However, it is the La Liga champions who are expected to make a move for the player when the transfer window reopens in January.

In his two seasons at Chelsea, Mata has scored thirty-two goals in one hundred and nineteen appearances, and has won the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League, while he has been named the Blues Player of the Year in both of his full seasons with the club.

Well the Daily Star and Mundo Deportivo have got it wrong. Mata said “My only aim is to play here (at Chelsea), grow as a player and do as good a season as the last two, which were amazing for me.” He seems very happy to me.
If the media is correct, Barca continues to desire Chelsea stars, while Chelsea stars continue to desire Mourinho.
