English giants Arsenal are bracing themselves for another bid from Barcelona for Cesc Fabregas after Barcelona president Joan Laporta described the midfielder as a “special case”.
Fabregas has been linked with a return to his former club throughout the summer despite the Gunners insisting their captain is not for sale at any price.
The midfielder himself has pledged his future to the north London club, but Barcelona are refusing to rule out another move for their former youth team player before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Speaking about criticism he received from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after going public about is interest in the player earlier in the summer, Laporta said: “I apologise if I bothered Mr Wenger because I respect him very highly and the job he is doing.
“But he knows perfectly that the case of Cesc Fabregas is special.
“He is a Catalan player from our youth team and it is not a secret that we love this player.”
