Barca could miss out on Nolito
La Liga champions Barcelona look set to miss out on top target Nolito, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
It is no secret that coach Luis Enrique has made signing the 29-year-old the priority in the January transfer window, but the deal is starting to look unlikely.
Namely, having splashed out over €50 million on the likes of Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal, the club management cannot afford Nolito’s €18 million release clause at the moment.
Having been obliged to reduce the club’s huge debt, the Catalans will not have money to spend in the winter transfer window.
As a result, they have proposed to sign Nolito on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy for €9 million, but it is clear that Celta will not agree to such an arrangement.
And with their star player having offers from Napoli and England’s top sides, the Sky Blues will probably find a buyer in the near future.
Bayern midfielder set for January exit
Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode is almost certain to leave the Bavarians in the upcoming transfer window, Bild has suggested.
The 25-year-old has largely struggled for playing time ever since he joined the club from Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer a year and a half ago.
Having also suffered a tendon injury, Rode has only made two league appearances this term and with the competition for places in midfield fierce at Allianz Arena, he may have to leave in search of first team football.
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola was initially prepared to give the former Germany Under-21 international a chance to prove his worth, but he has since changed his mind and is unlikely to object to a winter exit.
It is believed that former club Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen are ready to offer Rode an escape route from Allianz Arena.
The central midfielder resumed training with the ball earlier today after working on his fitness over the last couple of weeks.
Siqueira linked with Benfica return
Portuguese giants Benfica are reportedly readying a January bid for Atletico Madrid full-back Guilherme Siqueira, Record can reveal.
The Eagles are not exactly spoilt of quality options on the left flank and they plan to lure the Brazilian back to Estadio da Luz in the winter.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a very successful loan spell with Benfica during the 2013/2014 season and he may now be arriving on a permanent deal.
Siqueira has largely struggled for playing time this season, making just one appearance in Spanish La Liga and he could now leave in search of first team football.
The experienced defender has failed to prove his worth at Atletico Madrid and it looks as though his spell at Vicente Calderon is drawing to a close.
Los Colchoneros resume their league campaign with an away game against Real Betis, where they are 8/13 to emerge victorious.
