Barca eyeing Porto’s Danilo

Portuguese media outlet A Bola has learned that Spanish giants Barcelona are hot on the trail of FC Porto full-back Danilo.

With both Dani Alves and Martin Montoya nearing Camp Nou exit and summer recruit Douglas Pereira largely struggling at the start of his career in Spain, the Catalans are on the lookout for a new right-sided defender.

According to A Bola, they are ready to rekindle their interest in long-term target Danilo Luiz da Silva.

The Catalans believe the Brazilian would be a good replacement for Dani Alves and are expected to make a move in the summer transfer window.

Danilo has spent last three years at Estadio do Dragao, having joined from Santos in January 2012.

The highly rated defender, who has started five friendly games for Brazil since Carlos Dunga took over the reigns after the 2014 World Cup, amassed a total of 73 league appearances for the Dragons, scoring 7 goals.
