Barca eyeing star trio
Catalan media outlet Sport is reporting that Barcelona have compiled a list of three high-profile targets as they look to further reinforce the playing squad.
The Catalans have just appointed former AC Milan official Ariedo Braida as a replacement for Andoni Zubizarreta, and the technical committee is already working on several deals.
According to Sport, Barcelona officials have identified Marco Verratti, Danilo and Paulo Dybala as their top targets and they aim to make their interest concrete as soon as club’s transfer ban is lifted in January 2016.
The Italian midfielder is seen as a perfect successor to Xavi Hernandez and it is believed he would consider leaving Parc des Princes in the future.
Meanwhile, FC Porto’s Danilo should replace Dani Alves at Camp Nou, although the latest reports suggest Real Madrid have joined the race as well.
Paulo Dybala, 21, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards and he is reportedly a target for Juventus, Chelsea, PSG and few other European giants.
Liverpool in fresh assault on Pjanic
Premier League giants Liverpool are considering a summer bid for AS Roma star Miralem Pjanic, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds need to sign a long-term replacement for MLS bound captain Steven Gerrard and they appear to have made the Bosnia international their number one target.
Daily Mail has learned that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers flew to Italy after the Premier League win over Tottenham in an attempt to edge closer to luring Pjanic to Anfield.
Miralem Pjanic didn’t need long to become a key member of the side at Stadio Olimpico, and he has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club.
Since arriving at Roma from Lyon, the 24-year-old has managed 15 goals and 25 assists in 113 Serie A outings.
The Giallorossi have struggled for form of late, but they are available at 2/7 to see off bottom-placed Parma at the weekend.
Seb Hines agrees MLS switch
Middlesbrough defender Sebastian Hines is on the verge of completing loan move to Orlando City, Orlando Sentinel has learned.
The 26-year-old has just returned to the Teesside after his loan spell with Coventry came to an end, but it appears he won’t be staying at the club for much longer.
According to Orlando Sentinel, Orlando City have agreed to sign the centre-back on a six-month loan with an option to make his transfer permanent in July.
Hines will be out of contract at the end of the European season, meaning he will be free to commit his long-term future to the MLS side.
Born to an American father and with his family living in North Carolina, Hines has decided to continue his career in the United States.
Bar short stints at Derby County, Oldham Athletic and Coventry City, the defender has spent his entire career up to date at Middlesbrough, albeit making just 69 league appearances.
