Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi has revealed that Barcelona had a mega money offer rejected for Brazilian centre-back Marquinhos.
It is no secret that the talented defender has been on the Catalans radar, and the La Liga side apparently made an effort to sign the player in the summer transfer window.
PSG chief Nasser Al Khelaifi has moved to confirm that Barcelona had an offer in excess of €40 million rejected for Marquinhos.
“We have received an offer of more than €40 million for Marquinhos from Barcelona, but we rejected it because we do not buy players to resell them,” Al Khelaifi told Le Parisien.
The PSG chairman also revealed that the Saints had been in negotiations with Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria, but they eventually pull out of the deal with FIFA Financial Fair Play rules in mind.
The Saints have enjoyed a decent start to the new league campaign, picking up 8 points from first 4 fixtures, and they are now just 1/12 to lift the league title for the third time in a row.
