Barcelona chairman Sandro Rosell has confessed his interest in AC Milan starlet Stephan El Shaarawy.
Speaking ahead of the Champions League clash at San Siro, Rosell hinted that the Catalans could explore the possibility of signing the Italy international.
“I really like Stephan El Shaarawy,” the Barca president told Sky Sport 24. “That does not mean that we will sign him.”
Barcelona went on to suffer a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 stage clash that has put them in a very difficult position.
El Shaarawy did not have such a good game, but he worked hard for the team and even managed to help his back line on several occasions.
The 20-year-old has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 15 goals in 24 Serie A games, and has quickly developed into a key player in Max Allegri’s side.
With Milan chiefs looking to build the team around El Shaarawy and Balotelli, it is highly unlikely they will be prepared to negotiate his sale.
