Barcelona are one of the clubs that is always part of the transfer rumour mills, and no wonder. They are on their way to lose La Liga title to Real Madrid and are not amongst favourites to win the Champions League next month. The situation in their squad is somewhat chaotic and many changes are expected this summer. One of those changes could be at centre-back and now Samuel Umtiti could be the player to leave Camp Nou.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona want to send the French defender out on loan next season and there are a few clubs interested in his services. All of them come from Italy – Napoli, Roma and Lazio are interested in signing the 26-year-old this summer. Throughout the season, Umtiti has fallen down the squad pecking order at Barca and this could be his chance to get some important playing time.
He has another three years on his contract with Barcelona, which makes it easier to understand Barca are not giving up on him just yet.
