Barca still prefer Jović to Rodrigo

Barcelona are still in search for a classic striker, and according to Sport’s newest report on the subject, they still haven’t given up on Luka Jović.

The Serbian international, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica with an option for the Bundesliga club to make the deal permanent this summer, is a perfect fit for what the Catalans are looking for in a prospective new forward, and even though they were reported to have switched their interest to Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno, they are ready to work hard to get their No. 1 target – Jović.

The problem that they face is the price, which they believed to be €60 million, but it seems to have gone steeply up following interest from Paris Saint-Germain. Even though Barcelona do now wish to be drawn into a bidding war, they have tasked director of football Eric Abidal with doing what he can to make the deal happen. Only if they fail utterly will they start focusing on Rodrigo.
