Barcelona had reportedly identified Luka Jović, currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica, as the perfect candidate to be the long-term successor to 32-year-old Luis Suarez. They sent scouts to watch him on multiple occasions, and were convinced that the Serbian international is worth the €60 million which they believed would be enough to bring him to Camp Nou.
However, Sport now claim that the price has suddenly gone up due to apparent interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and as the Catalans have no intention of paying through the roof, they are prepared to move on from the 21-year-old striker.
Instead, they have turned their attention to former Real Madrid target, Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno.
Apparently, Barca head coach Ernesto Valverde is a big admirer of the 28-year-old and would like to have him in his squad. The Catalans are keeping an eye on his situation at the Mestalla, but the two clubs are yet to begin negotiating.
