Barca unaware of Messi/City link

According to AS, a Barcelona spokesperson has revealed to the paper that they were not aware of the rumours linking Lionel Messi with a move to Manchester City. Recent reports suggest that the Premier League champions are interested in making a groundbreaking offer to Messi, with the intention of reuniting him with former boss Pep Guardiola. The two men enjoyed a great deal of success together at Barca, and it’d be intriguing to see what they could produce if given the opportunity at the Etihad.

City have a plethora of attacking options already at the club, so it could be interesting to see how they move things around in order to suit someone like Messi. Recent reports have also suggested that Raheem Sterling could be on his way to Spain with Real Madrid, and if that happens, it could open the door for someone like Messi to come in and fill that void.
