Barca will ‘do everything’ to sign de Ligt

According to Sport, Barcelona are willing to do whatever it takes in order to secure the signing of Matthijs de Ligt. The Ajax star is a hot commodity with some of Europe’s finest being tipped to go after him, although the Spanish champions are almost certainly the frontrunners. They have been having regular contact with his agent, Mino Raiola, which seems to be as good of an indication as any.

They’re also interested in bringing Frenkie de Jong to the Nou Camp, but right now, de Ligt definitely seems to be the priority.

While there’s a good chance those tables could turn over the course of the next few months, a lot of this will ride on whether or not Barca want to get a deal done in January or if they want to wait it out until the summer so that de Ligt is given a full few months to adjust to life in Spain.
