Barca youngster set for Porto move

El Mundo Deportivo understands that Barcelona starlet Ayoub Abou is set to join FC Porto on a long-term deal.

The 16-year-old is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects at La Masia, but he has now decided to leave Camp Nou in favour of joining the Dragons.

It was Porto’s scout Pablo Sanz, who had previously worked at Barcelona, that recommended the youngster to coach Julen Lopetegui.

According to the latest reports, the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement that will pave the way for Ayoub to sign a long-term deal with the Dragons.

The highly rated midfielder will initially be added to the Under18 side, with a view to getting promoted to the senior set-up in the near future.

Ayoub has been at Barcelona since he was nine, when he moved from native Casablanca, but has struggled for playing time last season through various injuries.
