Barcelona are working hard to bring Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, according to Sport.
Apparently, the two clubs have recently had meetings over the matter and have made progress. Despite Griezmann rejecting the move and dealing Barca a blow last summer, the clubs are looking to find an arrangement to suit all parties involved.
Atletico have submitted a bid of €126 million to Benfica for the services of Joao Felix, who is seen as the perfect candidate to replace Griezmann at the Wanda Metropolitano, and it appears Barcelona are willing to pay as much for the Frenchman, even though his buyout clause is “only” €120 million. The extra six million would ensure that the fee is paid in installments matching those which Atletico would be paying Benfica, which would free up significant funds for Barcelona to spent now.
The deal to sign Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain is looking more likely by the day, and with that in mind, having extra funds at their disposal would certainly be beneficial for the Catalans.
