Barcelona are set to reward youngster Munir El Haddadi with a new long-term contract, El Mundo Deportivo has learned.
The 18-year-old was surprisingly given a chance to impress in pre-season by new boss Luis Enrique and he in turn went on to score four goals in warm-up games.
And after also scoring on his debut to cap a wonderful performance, the talented forward seems to have earned himself a new and improved deal.
Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has notified the player’s agent that he wants to negotiate a new deal for his client, with the talks set to be held in September.
The Catalans are eager to increase the youngster’s release clause that currently stands at mere €12 million, while also improving his wage to reflect his new status at the club.
Munir, who has bagged 3 goals in as many matches for Spain Under-19 side, scored a total of 4 goals in 11 appearances for the reserve team last season.
